Forthcoming courses available from Ross Menzies Medical Herbalist

I have bee running courses over the last 10 years. I am passionate about the benefits of herbal medicine and also believe that for minor health issues people can help themselves with some basic knowledge and the confidence to go out into nature and gather what they need.  I also have a strong interest in wild foods and allowing ourselves space and time to connect with the natural world on a deep level

My courses cover many aspects of herbal medicine from identification, how to gather herbs in a careful and  respectful way, drying and storage, preparation of remedies (ointments, linctuses, poultice, infusion, decoction, tinctures and more). I also teach herbal first aid so that you can treat cuts, stings, burns , digestive problems etc using wild plants and trees.

I am happy to run a course for a particular group designed to meet specific needs, so do contact me if this would be of interest.

Trees have been hugely important to people throughout time as sources of medicine, food, fuel, for building and of course producing the oxygen we breathe. They are also central to many myths and in folklore.
This day is a celebration of the wonderful variety of trees that grow around us. It is a day to get to know them a little more deeply. We will learn how to identify a number of trees both in Summer and Winter. We will explore some of the folklore associated with each tree and how each has unique attributes and uses.
There will be the opportunity to prepare a really effective elderberry flu, cough and cold syrup 9to take home), and several other remedies from barks and leaves.
If you feel a draw or connection to trees and want to get to know them and their properties better then please come along.

Cost £40 - A £20 non refundable deposit is required to secure a place, the full balance being paid on the day. Please note if this course is booked with either Tree medicine or Advanced Herbal Medicine the charge per course is reduced to £35.
